In 2019 Catriona set up her craft business ‘Patience Creations’ as a way to develop and share her fibre art. She is influenced by Waldorf art, traditional handcrafts and the Arts and Crafts Movement.

Catriona uses sheep wool to craft exquisite human figures, animals, birds, nests and flowers which are full of life. Each creature is unique, and has its own character. The process of needle-felting is very organic and pieces evolve quite naturally.

She is a member of the International Feltmakers Association and you can buy her craft work on Etsy, and in the The Leith Collective in Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh.

Catriona’s felt work is featured in two bird tutorials in Issue 139 of Stitch Magazine, Oct 2022. In 2020 she took part in Creative Flow’s ‘Nature is You’ exhibition celebrating the natural world and donated a felted beaver to the 87 Beavers project to highlight the brutal treatment of beavers in Scotland.

“I bought this for my best friend for Christmas; she loves felted animals. I can’t express how beautiful the animals in this set are! The craftsmanship is amazing and the detail is exquisite! And they aren’t teeny tiny small – I was happily surprised with their sizes. The expressions on the little lambs’ faces just make you fall in love with them! My best friend loved them and said it was her favorite Christmas present ever!”
